SES Celebrates New Hangar Facility at Port of Huntsville

This past week, SES celebrated the opening of our third hangar at Huntsville International Airport - a new 111,000-square-foot facility designed to support current and future aircraft customers and expand our fixed wing modification and support capabilities.

Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle, SES CEO Ralph Pallotta, and Butch Roberts, Port of Huntsville CEO, provided comments during the ribbon cutting festivities, held at the newly-constructed hangar, which is located on Wall-Triana Boulevard at Huntsville International Airport. Fite Construction was the prime contractor on the $17 million project.

"SES is a Huntsville success story," said Mayor Tommy Battle. "We've watched the firm rise from a small manufacturing company over on Pulaski Pike to becoming a key supporter of PEO Aviation at Redstone and as an international leader in support of rotary wing and fixed wing aviation. It is a great day to be here among good friends and special guests to celebrate another milestone for SES and for the expanding aviation business at Huntsville International Airport."

Ralph Pallotta, SES CEO commented, "This building provided us the perfect opportunity to do what we've been wanting to do and that our customers have been asking for - bring fixed-wing aircraft operations to Huntsville. This location at Huntsville International Airport is perfect for us and provides enhanced security, and this building is equipped with state-of-the-art fire protection, heating and cooling. These are essential to protecting assets such as expensive, sophisticated, complicated aircraft for us taxpayers as well as the government. It's been a wonderful addition, and we are really happy to be here."

SES LLC has a long history of aircraft modification, training and logistical support to customers around the world. This new facility increases the hangar space available to SES at the international airport to more than 200,000 SF and totals more than 1.4 million square feet of space to support our customers. With this hangar opening, SES is the largest tenant at the Port of Huntsville and International Airport..
